About me
I'm Lea Rose, a Western North Carolina native, currently based in Chicago. As a freelance writer who specializes in blog writing and copywriting, I'm able to do what I love most—write—while also helping companies achieve their goals in a way that's authentic, meaningful, and helps tell a story.
The meaning behind Written World
Writing and travel are my two greatest loves. Luckily, the two often go hand and hand, allowing me to do what I love. No matter what I’m writing, though, I believe that good writing has the ability to create a unique world through words. Hence, Written World.
Why I began Written World
From an early age, I’ve been scribbling away in journals, curious and eager to explore and understand the world around me. I originally began this site in 2019 as a creative outlet to share my love for writing and traveling with others. I’ve always been a big believer in following your intuition, and after years of brushing aside my love for writing as nothing other than a hobby, I’ve decided rather than ignoring it, I need to start listening to it.
My love for travel happened, I believe, by chance. There are certain moments that are meant to redirect you, and hopping on a plane at the age of 16 to do an exchange program in the Netherlands was that moment for me. Though only a month long, that trip instilled in me a desire to travel and a love for meeting new people and experiencing cultures that redefined my way of thinking and approaching the world. Since that trip, I’ve traveled to 15 countries and leapt at nearly every opportunity to travel, because when you find the thing that makes you feel most alive, I believe it’s your responsibility to do that very thing.
I began Written World to combine these two things: writing and travel, but it soon became the foundation for my freelance business and I haven't looked back. Ultimately, my hope for Written World is to inspire others—in big ways and small—through words.
Before you go, I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes of all time:

"For what it's worth... it's never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit. Stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you've never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again."
- F. Scott Fitzgerald
